CLAMs has the biggest coin distribution in digital coin history! Clams were distributed to 3.1 million addresses of users who held a Bitcoin, Dogecoin or Litecoin balance on May 14th, 2014.
This type of mining - known as proof-of-chain - is, according to the Clams team, the best and most fair way to create a large initial distribution to everyone who cares about the major digital currencies.
Clams now use proof-of-stake mining to mine their coins - as opposed to proof-of-work mining. PoS mining is more energy efficient, with Clams being randomly distributed to people holding Clams, a little like a lottery, rather than the energy intensive PoW mining used by other major coins.
